The stamp set "Always" has a very special place in my heart. Before I was a demonstrator, I held a workshop in my home in North Dakota with my friend (and now upline) Joy. Joy takes great care in creating workshop projects that speak to the taste of the hostess. In my case, she knew I loved birds and vintage style. She pulled out this stamp set and I was in love. I signed up that week to become a demonstrator and ordered this very stamp set with my starter kit. I am very sad to see it go. If you love it as much as I do, make sure you order it before June 30 when it will be gone forever!

I sometimes get carried away creating elaborate cards with lots of distressing, embellishing and accentuating. Okay, I do it a lot.

Today I knew I wanted to use the beautiful Beyond the Garden DSP. It is just lovely and full of summer. I also used the coordinating Fabulous Florets. Once I got to stamping I knew this card wouldn't need much. I added a sentiment and brads and it is perfect!

Easy. Simple. Beautiful. All in five minutes!

I finally whipped this up today after weeks of walking by that magazine thinking, "those colors would make such a pretty card." I'm so glad I did. I love how it turned out!

I'm excited to show you what I've been working on! May is going to be the first month I offer le Jardin Postale, the Garden Mail. May is National Scrapbooking Month, so I am going to be offering a scrapbooking kit. The kit will include all the consumable supplies to create 20 6x6 layouts and instructions to complete the scrapbook. The kit is beautiful! It includes cardstock, designer paper, coordinating ribbon, buttons, brads and stickers! You will not be disappointed with it. With the debut of our Summer Mini Catalog next month, I'm going to be introducing something new. Le Jardin Postale, or "The Garden Mail," is going to be a class by mail of sorts. Included in the cost of the class, will be a stamp set, all consumable supplies and instructions needed to complete that month's projects. For example, if I were to do a class this month, I would probably include supplies (except for the stamps, ink and adhesive) to complete the two Easter projects pictured here and two coordinating cards. Because May is National Scrapbooking Month and our new mini has a fabulous Simply Scrappin' Kit, I am thinking a scrapbook is definitely in order! Strength and Hope

Has someone you know and love been touched by breast cancer? My own grandmother is a twenty year survivor. My husband's grandmother and aunt are also survivors. So many lives have been affected by this horrific disease. That is why Stampin' Up had teamed up with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This is a card that I hated to have to make. However, a lot of love and heart went into it. My grandmother recently passed away and while I could be making cards for 20 to 30 of my family members who are mourning the loss of her, I focused on making one for my grandfather. This color palette was inspired by the spring Pottery Barn catalog. I found it perfect for this card.

Have you ventured into the fabulous world of digital scrapbooking yet? I have happily taken the plunge into nearly 100% digital. I love it for many reasons. I get to skip the step of selecting, printing and cropping photos all on my own before I scrap. All of my photos are already right where they need to be: on my computer! My husband loves digital scrapbooking because there aren't 87 pages of paper, 38 packages of stickers, adhesive, cutting tools and scraps of photos laying all over the house!! (I admit I kind of like that too!!) It is all neatly organized right on my computer. I LOVE it!

I get that and I totally respect it. While I tend to lean towards everything vintage and shabby chic, I do love to see some funky dots and bright colors here and there. Today I created a card using the same stamp I did yesterday. It is called "Baby Steps" and is available a-la-carte. It's such a cute stamp! I love elephants!! Anyhow, today's card shows how versatile a single stamp can be. I just love that about Stampin' Up!

I found the inspiration for this sweet baby card while in Strasbourg, France over the weekend. One of the many benefits of military life is living abroad and the wonderful travel! My girls were riding the most beautiful carousel and I noticed the sweetest pink and green elephant on it. My only regret is not having a camera of any sort with me at the moment. I committed that elephant to memory though and today we have a sweet baby card! Of course the elephant on the carousel was much, much more ornate and elaborate!

Oh, fall. It has been my favorite season for as long as I can possibly remember. France. That obsession began in my early adulthood. I love Parisian decor and style! Combine those two faves with the color purple and vintage accessories and I've got a match made in heaven!

Today I combined all of these favorite things to make a card for my favorite person, my sweet hubby. Believe it or not, it has already begun to feel like fall here in Germany... and I am NOT complaining! Our family just settled on a home this week and we are ecstatic! I wanted to thank my hubby for all the work he has put into finding our family the perfect home. I am so lucky to have him!

I have to admit, my In Colors are getting more mileage than I expected. I should have known with Stampin' Up! though. They do exhaustive research on color trends, etc before they even consider putting new colors out there! These cards were made with a Crumb Cake base and use Designer Series Paper in Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz. I then added lots of vintage accessories including Mini Vintage tags, Vintage Trinkets and Vintage Brads. Don't you also just love the new Chantilly Crochet Trim? It adds such a delicate touch to my projects. Stamps sets used were Curly Cute and Tiny Tags. Both some of my faves! Hope you have wonderful Thursday!

In Color Mini Cards

Looking through my last posts, I realize I have a fondness of the Crumb Cake and Poppy Parade combo! They just look so nice together, I couldn't help myself. I find myself naturally drawn to subdued, mellow colors, so today I decided to step out of the box just a bit. I made these mini cards out of the new In Colors. They are all so bright and fun and take almost zero time at all! Hope you enjoy them. {I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. Someone under the age of five got ahold of my good small camera and the lens isn't opening! I didn't want to drag out the giant camera, so I used my iphone!}

Japanese Book Binding

I did this little book for a demonstrator challenge using Japanese book binding. The technique is easy and the result is fabulously elegant. I love the simplicity of this project, yet it still looks so chic. These little books are quick and easy to make and would be wonderful gifts!

As most of you probably know, moving can be quite stressful. Moving overseas is even more stressful. Add to that the facts that you are seven years old, this is your fifth home, you're stuck in a hotel for three months and your mom is going to be having another baby! Yikes! Needless to say, my sweet Clairebear is a wee bit stressed. She's done great for the most part, but like all of us, she has moments where she really needs some encouragement. So, I thought I'd make her a card. She can be a girly girl and she appreciates pretty things. She also LOVES to do Stampin' Up with me, so I know she will love that I actually made something just for her. I wish I had started doing this much sooner!

I'm Back!

Wow, it has been a long time. Our family has seen quite a few transitions in the last several months. We have arrived at Stuttgart, Germany; our home for the next three years. We are actually still living in a hotel and will continue to do so for the next two months as we await our new home. It has been.... interesting. Thankfully, I thought ahead and had my essential stamping supplies shipped with our hold baggage. That means these three and a half months of hotel living can be happily punctuated with a creative outlet! Phew!

I finally stamped something worth showing yesterday. It has taken me a while to get situated and back into the swing of things. I made this card for a friend who was kind enough to send a batch of homemade cookies to our family. What a welcome change anything homemade was!

Most of my friends know that we are preparing to move overseas. It is a crazy time in this household right now! Medical appointments, passports and packing, oh my! I had planned on getting a card kit together to sell. I may still do that. My brain is basically all over the place. Right now I am planning two major projects. One is going to be for the Ladies Retreat at my church, West Kingston. I am super excited for that, but I think I will keep that one a surprise.

Well, yesterday I lied. It was not intentional, but sometimes I am just plain wrong. Turns out my Basic Black challenge is even MORE challenging than I originally thought. The challenge is to use Basic Black and a single color from the Bold Brights family. I am happy to announce that there are several still interested in attending the Christmas Card Buffet, so it is rescheduled. It will now be on a Saturday morning at my home in Newport. I think it will be much more easy going and relaxed. I plan to be here all day, so the time is quite flexible. If you can pop in for an hour or two, please do!

Today's card is two challenges in one. I made it for PPA's "In the Pink" challenge in honor and support of all breast cancer survivors, fighters and victims. I know breast cancer has touched many of you personally. My own grandmother, Momo, is a strong survivor of breast cancer and I greatly admire her and my grandfather, Koko, for their strength and undying faith in God during a hard time. A Rotating Hostess Club is a group of women who get together once a month at a set time and day.

What will occur at each meeting?

What are my responsibilities when it is my month to be a hostess?
When it is your month to be hostess, you are only required to provide light snacks. The meeting may or may not be held in your home. This is up to each individual. If you choose not to hold it in your home, it will be in my home. When it is your month to be hostess, you will receive hostess benefits for that month's meeting.

What does it cost to join a Rotating Hostess Club?
Joining a Rotating Hostess Club is essentially free. However, there is a commitment to purchase a minimum amount of Stampin' Up! products each month. The minimum purchase requirement is dependent on the amount of members in the club. In order to receive hostess benefits, sales must total $150. If there are six members in the club, each member would be required to purchase $25 of merchandise. If there are eight members in the club, each member would then only be required to purchase $18.75 of merchandise. Because of our limited time here in Rhode Island, there is only time for eight meetings before we all move on! If more than eight people are interested, I can hold two separate clubs.

When and where will the first meeting be?
I would like to hold the first meeting in October. Because it is the first meeting, I will be more than happy to hold it in my home. If you are interested in joining some time other than October, please let me know!

I realize I am WAAAAY behind here. I did a new catty swap with some of my sideline sisters and my upline. I chose the Razzle Dazzle stamp set that coordinates most beautifully with the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and the new in colors!

I received a catalog from Pier 1 last week. The colors and textures on this Daisy Chair were so inspiring to me, I just had to use it to make a card! I thought the colors were perfect for fall. And you'll notice the colors of the daisies match the In Colors just splendidly! If you look closely, you'll also see the sweetest gold swirls in the background. Seeing all of this made my head swirl with inspiration!

To create the stunning texture of this card, I used a technique I learned at a regional event. Using a brayer, I inked up one of Stampin' Ups exclusive background texturz background plates. I ran it through my big shot with some soft suede cardstock and voila! I thought the texture matched the gold swirls of the chair perfectly! Today's challenge was done a little differently.... digitally! I got the sketch from Pals Paper Art. (PPA7) Here is just one reason why I love My Digital Studio. Instead of wasting cardstock, supplies, etc while you are figuring out your card design (you know you've done it!), you can put it together digitally first! If you don't like what you've come up with, just hit delete! I put this together on MDS this morning and this afternoon, I did it in 3D. I tweaked it a little and added more detail. I love the way it turned out. I love previewing cards with MDS! It was so much fun, when can I do another??!!

A Halloween Hi!

I actually did do this card on Monday. I am just now getting around to posting it! For the images, I used a fun hostess set called "The More the Merrier." To get the image, I used my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker to just outline the pumpkins. I then used my blender pens to watercolor the inside of the pumpkins as well as the leaves and stems. Texture was added with paper piercing in a few of the pumpkins. Cardstock used is Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. The patterned paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series.
